Bill Love, Principal, CEO
Email BillBill became active entrepreneur in construction & project development when he founded SKC Electric, Inc. in 1980. He built a regional electrical and systems installation and maintenance services company with a major presence in the Midwest. In 1997 SKC Electric went public when Bill led the merger of a $280M revenue peer group in a consolidation to a national company under the name of Building One Services Corporation (NASDAQ: BOSS). Bill was President and COO until the acquisition by Encompass Services Corp. (NYSE: ESR) in February 2000. At the time of the acquisition, Building One was one of the largest and most profitable electrical companies in North America with revenue exceeding 1 billion dollars. In 2002, Bill and his partners subsequently purchased back the mid-western region of the company known as Faith Technologies. Ten years later, Faith is one of the top 15 electrical contractors in the U.S. with annual revenue in excess of $250M. In 2004 Bill became a partner in E Light based in Englewood, CO. E Light Wind & Solar was ranked the #3 solar contractor in the U.S. by Solar Power World magazine. E Light has installed over 200 MW of solar installations, enough to power 230,000 U.S. homes. In addition, Bill has personally involved in the acquisition of over 30 companies. He is also a past president and board member of Associated Builders and Contractors, a member of Inc. Magazine's FastestGrowing CEO Repeaters, national finalist in Ernst & Young's 2000 Entrepreneur of the Year, and an active mentor in the Helzberg Entrepreneurial Mentoring Program. Bill has been an active investor and advisor to management working with over a dozen companies through venture funds. In 2007 Bill started as an investor in the renewable energy industry in BioStar Systems. Bill became CEO in 2009. Bill's utilized his expertise in the renewable energy industry, electrical & solar construction, and project financing to found BioStar Solar in 2012.
John Martin, Principal, COO
Email JohnJohn is a fourth generation General Contractor. In 2008 he retired as the President and CEO of Kansas City, Missouri based Walton Construction Company LLC, the 34th largest General Contractor in the United States with regional offices in Kansas City, Missouri; Springfield, Missouri; Saint Louis, Missouri; Dallas, Texas; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Pensacola, Florida.
During John's four year tenure as President and CEO, the company transformed its culture, increased its Annual revenues by over 100% to nearly $800 Million annually, and doubled its annual Net Operating Income. During that period, the company won numerous awards, including the Contractor of the Year Award in 2006, Kansas City's Champions of Business Award in 2007, and also received a commendation from the City of New Orleans for building and donating a memorial to the victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Prior to joining Walton Construction, he served as Director of Planning, Development and Construction for Alabama based AB Shopping Center Properties. His territory was the Western Region of the United States and he planned, developed and built over four million square feet of commercial property.
After retirement, John joined Development and Planning Consultants, LLC, a company he founded in 2000 and became involved in developing and managing commercial properties. During his career, he has developed and implemented corporate strategic plans, performed upfront due diligence and completed operations, and structured and negotiated financing and joint venture transactions
John is active in civic, community and industry efforts including Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Kansas City, Garth Brook's Teammates for Kids Foundation, and Tony Gonzalez' Shadow Buddies Foundation. John is a graduate of the FMI Leadership Institute, and serves on the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce CEO Roundtable, the Board of Directors of the Kansas City Area Development Council, and the Board of Directors of the Heartland Credit Union.
John and his wife of 27 years, Juliet, have a 25-year-old son Morgan, who recently graduated from the University of Southern California and a 17-year-old daughter Grace, who is a High School Senior. John is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys golf, boating, scuba diving, and outdoor cooking.
Dennis Crabtree, Principal, CTO
Email DennisDennis has 30 years of business and operations management experience within three major international corporations, including Quaker Oats, ICI America, and Olin Corporation, with budgetary responsibilities in excess of $50-million per year. His professional expertise extends to the management of environmental issues as well as the development and deployment of environmental technologies. As former Division Director of Olin Corporation's Recovery Systems Group, and the founder and President of Taylor & Thomas Environmental, Inc., Dennis gained considerable hands-on experience with development, demonstration and application of a wide variety of cutting-edge environmental tools and waste management technologies. Taylor & Thomas Environmental, Inc. was the founding corporate sponsor of the West Virginia Institute of Applied Microbiology at West Virginia State College (now West Virginia State University); Dennis was instrumental in the development of the college's first graduate degree program and received the Governor's "Distinguished Honorary West Virginian" award.
Dennis was responsible for the development, design, engineering, construction and five-year demonstration of the first generation of the high-rate anaerobic digestion technology employed in BioStar™ systems. That demonstration project exceeded all Department of Agriculture goals and objectives, exceeded the EPA's standards for "Exceptional Quality" and was recognized by the International Environmental Management and Control Committee (IEMCC) at the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom for the extraordinary process efficiencies achieved. Another of his projects received national recognition from the U.S. Department of Commerce as the University Economic Development Association's 2004 Business Rejuvenation Project of the Year. Dennis also received Awards for Excellence from the New York City Police Department and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for his personal contributions to the successful management of unique environmental health and safety issues confronted during the 10-month Forensic Recovery Project that followed the tragedy of 9/11.
Dennis is a graduate of the University of Missouri at Rolla with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Management and special graduate work in Engineering Administration. He completed M.B.A. course requirements at the University of Michigan and Florida State University. Dennis has been a Visiting Lecturer in Applied Mathematics at Missouri Southern State College (now Missouri Southern University) and a member of the Advisory Board to the West Virginia University Department of Business and Information Management.
Dennis and his wife of 21 years, Denise, reside in Dunedin, FL with their 14-year old son, Spencer. Denise is the Literacy Coach at Anclote High School in Tarpon Springs, FL; and Spencer is a freshman at Dunedin High School. Their 18-year old son, Jacob, is a freshman at Duke University, Durham, NC. Dennis and Denise are active volunteer contributors to the Pinellas County School system, and longtime volunteers and officers of the Greater Dunedin Little League Baseball organization. Dennis has been honored as the "Volunteer of the Year" by Garrison-Jones Elementary School. They enjoy spending their spare time with family, friends and traveling to new destinations.

Steve Graham, P.E., Principal, Executive Vice President, Business Development
Email SteveSteve has been a dynamic leader in the Real Estate and Construction Industry through out his career. Most recently he has been Vice President of Destination Development for Kansas City, Missouri based RED Development, LLC, one of America’s Premier Shopping Center Developers. Steve’s primary focus at RED was the development of The LEGENDS at Village West in Kansas City Kansas, and The LEGENDS at Sparks Marina in Sparks, Nevada. These two centers are 1.8 Million square foot each with 10 Million visitors annually and have become industry leading, super regional, shopping destinations. Beyond recruiting the Anchor Destination Retailers, Steve was successful in helping RED acquire over 300 Million dollars of necessary public / private financing that included STAR Bonds (sales tax revenue bonds), and Tax Increment Financing.
Prior to joining RED, Steve was a top executive at Titan Construction Organization in Olathe, Kansas which at the time was the regions 4th largest contractor. He helped transform their company from a public bid General Contractor to primarily a private Design Build delivery company.
Steve was instrumental in delivering included a Animal Pharmaceutical Campus, Food Processing, Refrigerated Distribution Center and the T-Bones Minor League Baseball Stadium in Kansas City, Kansas.
Additional business leadership and management skills were developed while President and founder of Double Eagle Construction, Inc. in Blue Springs, Missouri. As a start up company in 1986 Double Eagle grew to over 100 employees in 8 years and became one of the top tier masonry construction companies in the Kansas City area.
Steve is active in civic, community and industry efforts including being President and board member for the Associated Builders and Contractors, President of the Board for the Olathe, Kansas and Gardner, Kansas Economic Development Councils, Board member of the Olathe, Kansas Chamber of Commerce, Past Chairman of the “Jazz in the Woods” event, the area’s largest free music concert sponsored by the Overland Park Rotary Club, Paul Harris Fellow, and a regular speaker at Shopping Center Industry Association conferences and the University of Kansas.
Steve is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a MBA. Further, he received a Masters Degree in Architecture from the University of Kansas in 2001.
Steve lives in Overland Park, Kansas with Shelly his wife of 24 years and two kids, Ryan, 18, and Kiersten, 13. Steve’s first love is his family, and he enjoys youth sports, golf, boating, hunting, and skiing.

David Claycomb, Principal, General Counsel
Email DaveDavid is an experienced lawyer, business owner and manager. He has over 30 years legal and business experience. He has been involved in real estate, agriculture and retail ventures. He began his legal career as a clerk for the Missouri Court of Appeals and then became an associate with a small litigation firm, James, Odegard and Millert. In 1979 he became Assistant General Counsel for the Gas Service Company, an investor owned public utility. It was merged with the Kansas Power and Light Company and David became Director of Legal Services and Administration responsible for the Law Department, Risk Management Department and the Regulatory Affairs Department.
In 1988 he became Of Counsel with Shook, Hardy and Bacon, a large international law firm based in Kansas City where he was a member of the Labor and Employment Law Section providing labor and employment services to a number of international clients including Continental Airlines and TWA. In 1999 he left the firm to focus on personal investments which included the purchase of the assets of a large Lenexa, Kansas based marine dealership. That business was sold in 2002. In 2006 he co-founded BioStar™ Systems, LLC with Dennis Crabtree.
David is a licensed Missouri lawyer and real estate broker. He has been active in a number of community organizations and served on numerous non profit and community boards including Blue Valley Industries, and St Joseph Hospital Foundation. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors and is Small Cities Representative to the Cass County Missouri Economic Development Corporation. He also serves as Chairman of the City of Lake Winnebago Planning and Zoning Commission. In 2008 he was honored as the Lake Winnebago Truman Heartland Community Foundation Citizen of the Year.
David graduated from Pittsburg University, with honors, attended Graduate School at UMKC in Economics and received a Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. He resides in Lake Winnebago, Missouri with his wife Judy.

John Naab, Director, Western U.S.
Email JohnJohn C Naab has been a management consultant to many small businesses on their way to becoming top producers in their local areas within the 9 western states. While specializing in the construction industry, he has also assisted firms in the automotive, logging, property management, real estate, and welding industries.
John began his work experience with Cummins NW Diesel in Seattle, WA and then Timberline Software out of Portland, OR. John was the first person with construction experience hired by Timberline and participated in its initial development. Today, Timberline is the leading construction software. While consulting with AutoTrim Design in Seattle, he designed a fully integrated computer producation and accounting system that was later adapted nationally by their association. During a consulting opportunity with an auto and truck parts company based in Yreka, CA, John was able to develop a distributed networking Point Of Sale computer system using a unique statmux communication concept that allowed the firm to go from 3 stores in 1 state to 17 stores in 3 states in less than 24 months.
Starting in 2000, he returned to Sonoma, CA to consult with a home builder in Napa. Within a few years, John became the CFO & COO and together with Rick Hess turned RH HESS Development around from a spec home builder to a custom home builder and finally a commercial developer. They were instrumental in the formation of the City of American Canyon in Napa County.
John and his wife Adrienne are involved in numerous community activities and charities. He is an avid camper and explorer. He served as the CFO and as a member of the Board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce in American Canyon, Napa County, from 2002 – 2006. He is a combat veteran who served in the U.S. Air Force, special weapons. John is a graduate of the University of Washington, Seattle with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management.

Mark O'ffill, Controller
Email MarkMr. O'ffill has a BSB in Accounting from the University of Kansas. He has more than 18 years of experience in directing the financial matters of venture capital, manufacturing and service related companies. His diverse experience has produced a strong ability to work with a broad range of disciplines and personnel to identify and evaluate the weaknesses of a given situation, department, or organization and to develop and implement solutions to eliminate those weaknesses.
Mr. O'ffill proudly served over 6 years in the United States Navy. Mr. O'ffill deployed aboard both the U.S.S. Mars (AFS-1) and U.S.S. Ranger (CV-61). During his time in service, Mr. O'ffill earned various individual and unit ribbons, awards, medals and citations, including the Armed Forces Expeditionary Service medal. Mr. O'ffill received an Honorable Discharge.
Mr. O'ffill provides BioStar™ Systems with day-to-day accounting, financial analysis, statement preparation, contract writing and analysis.
